5 Prayers for Next Week

We thought we would do something different this week. Invite you to grow your relationship by praying – either together or separately, Monday through Friday.

And we thought the week before Valentine’s Day might be a good week to try this. (Although, we do not want to add more pressure to make Valentine’s Day incredible! Libby thinks it is a scam, anyway.)

Below is a prayer guide for each day next week. Do not feel bad if this is something that would not fit your marriage right now. Praying like this privately will have its own impact.

1. Decide right now when you will do this each day.
2. Print this email or take a screen shot for quick access.
3. Do not be surprised if God gives you some insights or instructions. If so, write them down.
4. Please share this email with three other couples.

Prayer Guide

Monday Joy
Lord, thank You for our marriage and this life together.
Help us enjoy each other and not rush past the good.
Restore warmth, and gratitude between us.
Draw us closer to You and to one another.
Give us a glad and generous heart toward each other. Amen.

Tuesday Love
Lord, help us choose love today—not just feel it, but live it.
Show us small ways to care, forgive, and serve each other.
When we’re tired or distracted, pull us back toward kindness.
Let our love be steady and real.
Give us a glad and generous heart toward each other. Amen.

Wednesday Connection
Lord, help us stay connected even when life feels full.
Make space for conversation and listening.
Pull our hearts closer together.
Give us a glad and generous heart toward each other. Amen.

Thursday Lightness
Lord, help us not take ourselves—or each other—too seriously.
Teach us to let small things go and choose grace over tension.
Fill our marriage with lightness, patience, and good humor.
Give us a glad and generous heart toward each other. Amen.

Friday Thankfulness
Lord, thank You for this marriage and this week.
Help us end it with gratitude and affection.
Deepen our closeness as we rest and enjoy being together.
Give us a glad and generous heart toward each other. Amen.
